Over the last several months, our newsletter has focused largely on our outward-facing service offerings and the unparallelled level of customer service CRRG delivers with each project. As the founder and owner of CRRG, Rebecca Schmitt understands how important each and every team member is to the company. This month, we turn the lens inward a bit and take a look at the “secret sauce” which makes CRRG, Inc. so successful.
In the same way our company views & treats our clients, so do we also treat our own team. Long ago, it was decided to create a strong culture of giving at CRRG. This is done to reward loyalty and hard work, not to buy loyalty. A little bit of genuine appreciation goes a long way and Rebecca takes it to another level. Everyone who works at CRRG gets a hand-picked gift every Christmas, with just as much thoughtfulness as one would use for their own family. And beyond the individual holiday gifts, team members have been known to be unexpectedly rewarded with surprises such as fancy dinners, local weekend getaways, and even paid destination vacations!
In Rebecca’s own words, her goal with this generous management style is to, “let the team experience some of the blessings I have been given.”. Some people may never have a chance to take a destination vacation, so giving generously encourages an environment where service and generosity spills over into the clients’ experience. The little things often make a big impact, like the company birthday rule that states every team member gets their choice of (1) a day off, or (2) $100! This month, we are making no secret about our cause for major celebration at CRRG, Inc… That reason is the fact that we are celebrating a MAJOR MILESTONE in our company history with CRRG’s 26th Anniversary! That’s right, Rebecca Schmitt brought the company to life over a quarter century ago and is still leading the industry with satisfied clients and impeccable customer service standards. Join us as we take a few moments today and share some of the long-held values, stories and history behind CRRG, Inc.
From the beginning, CRRG was born in a spirit of humility as Rebecca spent the early days walking courthouses herself, actively seeking any work she could find. At the time, she had moved in with her brother and was able to focus 100% on her document search & retrieval work – a true one-woman show! Early on, she realized that she was setting herself apart from the competition by offering her clients TRANSPARENCY and TIMELINESS. They felt genuine care for their work and Rebecca’s wonderful, big heart is still the pulse of CRRG, Inc. today!
Eventually, Rebecca gained enough work and had to expand by hiring her first team member. She wasn’t looking for just a “body in a chair” but rather someone whom she could consider a friend, someone with the same heart to deliver high quality work within efficient timelines. Even today she will tell you that her hiring strategy is to value the HEART of a person over their skills. This fabulous team of people truly consider each other friends and are willing to do whatever it takes to make the company successful. This is at the heart of CRRG’s philosophy on Customer Service – to treat our clients as friends and help in any way possible. Of course, we can lean on other deliverables such as timeliness, accuracy, and fair fees but those are more or less expected. We succeed based on a strong foundation, one that extends to every department and every team member in the company. What gives us a strong foundation? Each team member begins as a field researcher to best understand what the client needs and the challenges along the way. We will go into more detail in future newsletters on the topic of Turnaround Time (TAT) because it is a critical part of our success. Because the documents we handle are binding, legal documents there is usually an urgent timeline driving the search. We push industry norms by delivering TAT’s from 2 hours to less than 24 hours for searches in Metro D/FW and Houston. Searches in any other state (including Guam and Puerto Rico!) will typically be fulfilled in 48 hours! That’s FAST and we’re not afraid to say it.
